Good to know
The 60 days start on the day you enter Thailand, not the day the visa is issued. You must enter while the visa is valid (3 months for a TR).
An extension of up to 30 days can be requested at an immigration office in Thailand (fee 1,900 THB). It is at the officer’s discretion.
If you want to combine a long stay with remote work, the DTV visa is the better fit.

FAQ
Tourist visa or 30 days visa-free?
If your trip is purely a holiday of 30 days or less, you don’t need a visa. For anything longer, a tourist visa gives you 60 days plus a possible 30-day extension — around three months in total.
What is the difference between TR and METV?
A TR is single entry: one trip of up to 60 days, valid for 3 months. A METV is valid for 6 months and allows multiple entries of up to 60 days each — handy if you hop to neighbouring countries and come back. The METV has stricter financial requirements.
Can I extend my tourist visa in Thailand?
Yes, once, by up to 30 days at a local immigration office, for a fee of 1,900 THB. The extension is at the officer’s discretion.
